Returning to the Stream

The purity of our community’s drinking water and the pristine waters of our beloved Big Spring is being threatened. I realize this is happening nationwide because of big businesses bringing in enormous warehouses - the one they are proposing here is 100 acres or 75 football fields in size.

I lived next to the Yellow Breeches in Pennsylvania for over ten years. I loved painting the fish, herons, luna moths and other wildlife on stones. I lost my little fishing cabin in a flood and relocated. Being close to nature again has renewed my interest in these subjects, so you’ll see more of them in my portfolio.

​The Message of the Iris

The iris is named in honor of the greek goddess Iris,  a messenger between heaven and earth and the guardian of the rainbow. 

The three petals of the iris symbolize faith, wisdom and valor and are perfect for celebrating friendships, providing comfort and instilling a sense of peace.

MY PROCESS OF CREATING

A lot of time, effort and love is poured into creating each piece. Many of the herbs are grown in my gardens! Once I decide on my subject matter, I paint it, cut it out, create the collage backgrounds and pair the illustrations and backgrounds!
