Sacred and Symbolic Swags Workshop was a Delightful Success!
Thank you to Susana Brill Reppert at the Rosemary House in Mechanicsburg, PA for arranging the workshop, and to Nancy Reppert as Sweet Remembrances, also in Mechanicsburg, for providing such a beautiful space!
Participants created gorgeous swags as they learned about the history of why evergreens were hung on our doors (the black chicken came first!), and how each of the herbs provided offered different types of protection. They also learned about the history and legends associated with each of the evergreens. Everyone received a sprig of white pine, cedar, juniper, holly, ivy, mistletoe and rosemary. Pine cones and ribbons were also provided. Each sway was unique! A few of the participants were camera shy but all were proud of their creations!

ROASTMARY is a special blend of rosemary, garlic, salt, and seasonings to enhance chicken, lamb, pork, hamburger, beef or kabobs. Moisten meat and rub ROASTMARY into the meat. Cook or roast in usual manner. Delicious hot. Delicious Cold. Also fantastic on veggie kabobs or roasted vegetables!

I’m so thrilled to be presenting a workshop on the Wednesday evening following Thanksgiving in lovely and historic downtown Mechanicsburg, PA! Creating swags together, and sharing information on the herbal legends and lore surrounding holiday evergreens, will be a delightful way to segue from Thanksgiving into the Christmas holiday season! Our doorways will be simultaneously beautiful and safe guarded!

Herbs and evergreens were chosen with care based on their protective qualities to ensure families were safe inside! Join us to create your own protective and decorative evergreen swag as you learn about the historical symbolism and safeguarding properties of holiday herbs! Taught by Mikell Youell Worley, author of Enhancing Your Life with Herbs. Register here!
